Vendor Partners - The Green Room Flower Co
The people behind the days we love 〰️
Behind every wedding we’re part of, there’s a whole team of people pouring their hearts into it. This series is about them. The florists, photographers, planners and makers we’re lucky to work alongside.
First up, Rach from The Green Room.
From the kitchen to the flower bench
Rach didn't take the straight road into floristry. She trained in horticulture, then spent time as a chef and a cellar-hand. Looking back, the thread running through all of it is pretty clear.
"I absolutely loved working with produce and things that come from the earth," she tells us. Add a passion for art, and flowers felt like the perfect mix of everything she was good at.
She started at The Green Room in 2016, and a year later bought the business from Charlotte. "Best decision I've made," she says. She was 25 at the time, and it was exactly where she needed to be. Ten years on, there's no place she'd rather be.
Letting the flowers speak
Ask Rach to sum up her style and she lands on two words: design-led and romantic. Her designs are organic and nature-led, built around seasonal flowers with a few on-trend touches.
But the heart of it is the couple. Every design is made to feel like them, and to reflect who they are. As Rach puts it, flowers are the finishing touch to most weddings, "and we all just love that we get to be those artists."
What sets the team apart is how they work behind the scenes. They're genuinely design-led and systems-focused, and they treat their growers and wholesalers as partners rather than suppliers. Seasonality and sustainability guide every choice. "Every floral design we create tells a story, and we love being a part of that."
A day to remember
When we asked about a wedding she's especially proud of, Rach didn't have to think long. Erin Fields had sold her farm and threw an incredible celebration to mark it, under the biggest marquee setup we'd ever done.
The florals came with heaps of creative freedom, and the scale of what everyone pulled together made it something special. "A great bunch of vendors and such a memorable experience," she says. We couldn't agree more.
Too many favourites
We made the mistake of asking Rach to name her favourite flower. "I genuinely can't pick just one!"
Hydrangeas are right up there. David Austin garden roses are always a win. She's obsessed with dahlias and delphiniums, loves the smell of freesias and bells of Ireland, and peonies make the list too. For Rach, each one has its moment, depending on the season and how it fits into the bigger design.
Working together
We'll admit, this part made us smile. Rach describes working with Truly Yours as working with "absolute professionals", and says the team brings warmth, a great eye for overall design and a modern take on the wedding world. The feeling's mutual. Every time we're on site together, the energy is easy and the result speaks for itself.
What's next
The next chapter is a big one. Green Room now has what Rach calls an amazing dream team on board, and she's about to launch Mount Maude Retreat, an accommodation and events venue. Having that sit alongside the florals is, in her words, already something incredibly special.
We can't wait to see it come to life.
