Venue Spotlight - Kumikoʼs Guest House
Tucked into the hills at Omihi in North Canterbury, Kumiko's Guest House is one of the more unexpected wedding venues we've come across in the South Island. With Japanese-inspired architecture and expansive gardens, Kumiko’s offers a quiet and beautiful venue for an unforgettable celebration.
The house was built in 1995 with Japanese-inspired architecture throughout... a zen garden courtyard, wide verandas, sliding screens and a sunken dining room. It sits right next to the divine Black Estate vineyard.
You get full use of the house and grounds, so your day stays intimate and unrushed. There are beautiful cabins along the driveway available to hire, plus a golf tee where you can send balls flying out over the lush rolling lawns, a key highlight for guests the day after.
Now picture a TY clear marquee out on that lawn... we can already see it 🤍
Picturing your day at Kumiko's? Send us your date and guest numbers, and let's start planning.
